A REAL COBLI Catamaran Share Experience

Lagoon 42 Review Part 1 with Stewart & Neil

Here’s how these business partners became owners in a catamaran share with COBLI. For Stewart and Neil, getting out on the water was always a dream—but full boat ownership never made sense. They wanted to enjoy boating without the hassle, have the flexibility to sail in different locations, and avoid the financial and maintenance burden of sole ownership.

That’s when they discovered COBLI’s catamaran share model, and over the last three years, their passion for the lifestyle has only grown.

Initially, they tested the waters with a 1/6th share in a Lagoon 42, but quickly realized they wanted more access. They secured a second share, giving them more time aboard. Now, after three years of experience, they know exactly what they want—and they’ve worked with COBLI to create a more refined Lagoon boat share experience with a brand-new Lagoon 43.

With just four owners instead of six, this exclusive syndicate will offer greater flexibility, upgraded features, and the ability to balance both adventure and remote work.

Here is their experience with their first catamaran share on the Lagoon 42 with COBLI.

Why COBLI? The Perfect Catamaran Share Solution

“We knew we wanted a boat, but we didn’t want the commitment of full ownership,” says Stew. For them, a COBLI catamaran share provided the best of both worlds—all the joy of boat ownership, without the stress. “We never wanted a whole boat. It would sit there unused, and we’d have all the maintenance and costs. This way, we actually use the boat and don’t have to worry about the rest.”

Neil, who had previously owned a motorboat share, was already aware of the convenience of a managed ownership model. But what really sold them on COBLI was the walk-on, walk-off experience and outstanding customer service with their catamaran share.

Neil emphasized COBLI’s attention to detail and commitment to service. “There’s no stress. You turn up, the boat is immaculate, and you just enjoy your time on the water. That’s what made us want to do it all over again.”

Agreeing, Stewart recalls, “Our early relationship with Joe, John, and Nicky was fantastic. No question was too small—they were always available to help. Throughout the three years, that level of service never ceased, the boat was always perfectly presented and ready to go.”

The Lagoon 42 – A Perfect Introduction to Sailing

Both Stew and Neil were new to sailing when they joined COBLI. The Lagoon 42 proved to be the ideal boat to learn on.

Neil recalls how its stability, comfort, and easy handling gave them confidence. “The Lagoon 42 was solid and safe. The layout was great, and the size meant we could handle it ourselves, even with inexperienced crew.”

Stew loved how the boat allowed them to share experiences with family and friends. “With a young family and guests onboard, it was perfect. Spacious enough for everyone to do their own thing but easy to handle with just one or two people. You could potter around, drop anchor, and just enjoy being on the water.”

Standout Memories – The Delivery That Changed Everything

Of all the incredible moments aboard the Lagoon 42, one of the most unforgettable experiences for Stewart and Neil was helping deliver the boat to the Whitsundays with Joe and John.

“That trip was something special,” says Neil. “It wasn’t just about getting the boat from A to B—it was a full-blown adventure. We saw parts of the coastline we’d never seen before, experienced stunning sunrises and sunsets at sea, and really got to know what it means to be a skipper.”

The experience wasn’t just about the scenery—it was about gaining real-world sailing skills in the best possible setting.

“We learned so much on that trip—how to properly sail, navigate, and handle the boat in different conditions,” adds Stew. “And the best part? We were doing it with great people. Joe and John made the whole experience both fun and educational.”

For both of them, this delivery was a defining moment—a key reason why they fell in love with sailing and their catamaran share. As their experience grew, so did their vision for the perfect Lagoon boat share. Keep reading Part 2 to discover how they are taking their next Lagoon 43 boat share with COBLI to the next level.
