  • Check bilges are dry
  • Hull, windows & deck hatches shut
  • Check battery & fuel levels
  • Fresh water pump & Nav on
  • Correct nav lights if applicable
  • Check no lines overboard
  • Instrument covers off
  • Shore power unplugged
  • Safety wires at stern attached
  • Navigation is active
  • Record Engine Start Hours on Log
  • 1st time crew safety briefing – stopping the boat, safety gear etc. Nominate 1st mate
